The maintenance of your carpets depends not only on the care you show them during their use in winter but also during their storage in summer.
It is important to keep them clean, unaltered and protected for as long as you do not use them.
Follow these steps to store your rugs:
- Clean thoroughly and make sure there are no traces of dust and stains left.
- Before wrapping, check that they are completely dry.
- Wrap them tightly in a roll. You are not allowed to fold them like clothes. Check that there are no creases.
- Tie each rug in three places with rope / cord. Avoid tape because it may leave glue.
- Place them in special carpet storage bags and tie the edges of the bag. Special bags have the ability to "breathe" which helps to prevent the carpet from smelling.
- When storing it is good to place them horizontally. The small ones on carpets can be easily placed vertically. Large rugs should be placed vertically, being careful that the wrapping is straight at the edges and does not crease.
- Behind the sofas is a good place for storage.
